MORE TO SKI, SEE & DO

It may be called Winter Park, but this outdoor paradise offers a variety of activities and events every season of the year – in every direction you turn. Check out our recommendations below or kick-start your plans with 100 things to do in Winter Park at winterpark100.com.

ON THE MOUNTAIN

With 29 feet of snowfall per year and more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, Winter Park Resort is a skier, boarder, and tuber’s paradise. When the fluffy blanket melts come spring, hikers, bikers and alpine sliders are just as giddy.

THROUGH THE VALLEY

You don’t have to be a downhill skier to have an elevated experience. The valleys of Winter Park present an open-air playground for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, dog sledding, ziplining, and sleigh and horseback riding.

DOWN THE RIVER

A river runs through Winter Park, as do creeks, streams and tributaries. Enjoy the serene quiet of a fly fishing excursion on the Fraser River or howl your way down the rapids on a whitewater rafting or kayaking adventure.

ACROSS THE LAKES

Grand County is home to many scenic lakes and reservoirs, with the “Big Three” offering big adventure. Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Reservoir and Lake Granby lure boaters, sailors, paddleboarders, skiers, anglers, and even windsurfers to their cool and deep waters.

AT THE HEADWATERS

The Headwaters Center, Winter Park’s newest events and education center, has opened its doors for the entertainment and enlightenment of all ages. Coming in 2019, its eagerly anticipated ecology center will feature both indoor and outdoor exhibits on water issues and conservation.

AT "THE" PARK

The western gateway to majestic Rocky Mountain National Park, Winter Park is also the less traveled path to its 415 square miles of trails and trees, lakes and laurel, wildflowers and wildlife, and endless views and vistas.

IN HIDEAWAY PARK

With a skate park, playground, picnic pavilion, and outdoor amphitheater, downtown’s Hideaway Park is the perfect place for the family to hang out, practice ollies, and hear some live tunes. Visiting in the winter? Head to the sledding hill where free sleds are provided.

AT THE RANCH

A member of the esteemed Devil’s Thumb Ranch family, Trailhead Inn offers its guests free shuttle service to the resort to enjoy its vast menu of activities, its acclaimed dining experiences, and its world-class spa.
